Ghanaian forward Kwaku Osei Bonsu scored his first goal of the season for Caracas FC against Deportivo La Guaira in Venezuela’s Primera division.
It was his first game for the Red and Blacks after missing the first five due to a suspension in the League Cup final last season.
After receiving a long pass from strike partner Sampson Akinyoola on the edge of Deportivo’s 18-yard box, Osei Bonsu put Caracas ahead in the 13th minute.
The 21-year-old beat his marker and hit a low shot through the legs of the goalkeeper to set the tone for Caracas, who led by three goals at the half.
Albert Zambrano came on in place of Bonsu in the 62nd minute. Caracas fell into a state of complacency as they took their foot off the gas pedal. Deportivo mustered a late rally, scoring two goals to cut the deficit.
