Ghanaian forward Kwaku Osei Bonsu propelled Caracas to a 3-1 victory last Sunday in their home fixture against Academia Puerto Cabello in Venezuelan Primera Division.

Academia had a breakthrough in the 12th minute after  Samuel Sosa breached the Caracas backline with a beautiful assist for Alfredo Stephens to shoot into the net.

Caracas restored parity when Academia substitute Héctor Noguera scored own goal after failing to deal with Osei Bonsu’s cross.

Bonsu put Caracas in front in the 88th minute after a shot from Nigerian forward Samson Akinyoola was blocked into his path.

The 22-year-old struck the ball straight at the goalkeeper who parried it into his own net.

Caracas did not let up as Jefferson Martínez put the final nail in the coffin of Academia with the third goal in the 95th minute.

Bonsu has four goals and one assist in 16 appearances for Caracas FC this season.

The Red and Blacks are 8th on the league table and will take on Metropolitanos on Wednesday.
