Black Stars forward Prince Kwabena Adu has described his inclusion in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as a significant achievement, acknowledging the intense competition for places within the national team.

The Viktoria Plzen striker is among several players preparing to represent Ghana at football’s biggest tournament after earning a place in Carlos Queiroz’s final squad for the competition in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

For Adu Kwabena, the call-up represents the reward for years of hard work and dedication, particularly given the wealth of football talent available across the country.

“There are a lot of footballers in Ghana, so just getting noticed is a plus,” he said

The forward joins a Ghana squad that blends experienced internationals with emerging talents as the Black Stars seek to make a strong impression at the World Cup.

Ghana are currently putting the finishing touches to their preparations in the United States under the guidance of Queiroz, who has been tasked with leading the four-time African champions back to the knockout stages.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia and face a demanding challenge in their quest to progress beyond the first round.

For Adu Kwabena, being noticed was the first step. Now, he aims to make his mark on the world stage.
